Third Meting!

We did some fun things at our last meeting:

Community Expectations
We developed a really solid list of community expectations! What a respectful, thoughtful, and inclusive bunch we are.

Trust Building Activity
Dalton led us in a trust building activity where each person had a partner, and were led around campus with their eyes closed! We looked like a group of crazy people, but really, that isn’t too far from the truth.

And as a reminder, here are our different committees:

  • Social Justice Committee - The Social Justice Committee will plan the Social Justice nights starting in January. This can be anything from watching a documentary and having a discussion, to having a speaker or panel, to creating our own content and having a walkthrough.
  • Mentor Committee - Members of this committee will be small group leaders during our Social Justice Nights and our Service Days. These groups will consist of high school students as well as Peer Leaders. This committee will work closely with these students in facilitation of discussions and conversations.
  • Recruitment Committee - The Recruitment Committee will be going to high schools and community centers to recruit high school students for our program! Members of this committee will develop relationships with applicants and community partners. This committee will only be for the fall quarter.
  • Want to sign up for a committee? Email Polly Lentz, committee director, at lentzp@seattleu.edu, and let her know which committee you are interested in. Depending on your commitment level, you can choose whether or not to join a committee.
On Saturday, we will be going to Piecora's for a fun Just EAT! event! Join us at 6:00!
